“Lake Okotanpe オコタンペ湖” Acrylic Painting and Photography アクリル画と写真 (English and Japanese)

This Lake is such a beautiful small lake in Hokkaido, Chitose, Japan. When you arrive at Lake Okotanpe, you feel holy gentle energy. You forget time and stay there for a long time to watch it. I love to peak at Lake Okotanpe between the trees. I took a photo and painted.

この湖は、北海道千歳市にあるとても美しい小さな湖です。オコタンペ湖に着くと、神聖で優しいエネルギーを感じます。湖を眺めていると、時を忘れ長い間そこにとどまることができます。木々の間からオコタンペ湖を覗くのが好きです。写真に撮り、絵を描きました。

Lake Okotanpe means ‘O-Kotan-Un-Pe,’ which means ‘There is a village down stream of the river.’ The Okotanpe river goes into Lake Shikotsu whose water source is Lake Okotanpe. This is a spot of hot springs. There was a small village of the Ainu indigenous people, who used it for bathing or fishing of East Asian trout.

アイヌ語で「川下に村がある」を意味する、「オ・コタン・ウン・ペ」に由来。この湖を水源とするオコタンペ川が支笏湖に注ぐ地点には温泉があり、かつてはアイヌがアメマス漁や入浴のために小さな村を営んでいた。
